I was recently asked to contribute a piece for a show with the theme "Finding Beauty". As I considered the meaning of beauty, I realized it's impossible to "find" ... at least with our physical eyes. Beauty is God's territory, and His definition of it strongly contrasts ours (1 Sam. 16:7). We can only see it when He reveals it to our hearts.
Taking this approach to the piece also got me off the hook from trying to make something that epitomizes beauty ... (a daunting task). Whew! Close one ...
